Barkley's new home

The season for change:

Clockwork joined forces with Gensler to design Barkley’s new home in the Crossroads district. The new space reflects advancements in workplace planning not found elsewhere in Kansas City.

“We have no walls. Offices? We don’t need them. We all work together. We interact. There are 23 conference rooms with 180 seats. There are 38 collaborative zones with 212 seats. We have our own art gallery, a library, a theater and BBQ grills on our rooftop observation deck. We spend a lot of time here, so we make sure it inspires us along the way.” excerpt from Barkley

J.E. Dunn unveils new HQ

J.E. Dunn Construction Co. unveiled the design of its new downtown headquarters Friday at an event that also offered more twists to the evolving East Village redevelopment plan.

Clockwork worked with the Healthcare Division currently located in the Town Pavilion to develop space standards and work-flow analysis. After successfully completing that project, Clockwork developed the space guidelines and detailed program analysis for the new Headquarters building.

Groundbreaking is expected next spring for the $50 million building, which will house up to 550 J.E. Dunn employees. The building also is being designed to achieve a silver or possibly gold LEED status, a national rating system measuring a building's environmental friendliness.

Gallery Addition

Inspired by industrial rooftop appendages Clockwork designs a living space atop Crossroads gallery. http://www.crossroadscommunityassociation.org/ "One thing vibrant cities have in common is a healthy and lively urban core. While this has not always been the case in Kansas City, exciting changes are under way that are bringing new life to the heart of our city. The Crossroads Arts District already has begun an amazing transformation. Long vacant buildings have been filled by growing businesses, restaurants, residences and a thriving art scene. The members of the Crossroads Community Association are determined to make certain this transformation continues."

Gallo Building

The Gallo building located at 140 Walnut is the latest project to add to the richness of Second Street in the Rivermarket. Developed by Chris Sally and Jonathan Arnold, the building consists of rental loft offices. On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Capital Improvements Management Office will be holding a public open house for residents of the River Market District and Columbus Park neighborhood to give them the opportunity to review the latest plans for the 2nd Street streetscape improvements project. Clockwork provided architectural services in this project including the state and federal tax credit evaluation. This project was designed utilizing the LEED guidelines for energy conservation.
